The Constitution Is Dead: The Gradual Transition towards an Orwellian Police State by Devon DB
Americans denied their First and Third amendment rights...
Many in America still believe that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and that politicians, both Republican and Democrat alike, still hold that view and ensure that any and all legislation passed does not violate it. However, in today’s America, the Constitution is effectively a null and void document, nothing more than a symbol politicians pay lip service to.
The destruction of the Constitution began soon after 9/11 when the Patriot Act was pushed through Congress. In the heat of the moment it seemed as if the legislation was meant to protect us from terrorism, however it was later revealed that certain provisions blatantly violated the First, Fourth, and Sixth Amendments. [1] Interestingly enough, however, this didn’t stop the Senate from to extending the Patriot Act earlier this year [2]. In doing this, the government revealed just how much they respect the Constitution.
The next unconstitutional act to take place was under President Obama. Despite his “hope and change” rhetoric during the campaign, the only thing Obama changed was to further erode the Constitution and the power of checks and balances in government. Obama argued that the UN mandate gave him the right to bombard Libya, however the mandate has nothing to do with the fact that such an action was unconstitutional [3] as the power to declare war in held solely by Congress, not to mention the fact that it violated the War Powers Act. In carrying out this action, Obama did even more to expand the imperial presidency and showed his blatant hypocrisy as in 2007 he clearly stated that “
The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” [4] (emphasis added) However, in later months he would take this disregard of the Constitution to the extreme.
Just two months ago, Obama authorized the assassination of American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. While al-Awlaki was a member of Al Qaeda, he was still a US citizen at the time of his death [5] and thus he still had rights as a citizen, specifically the right due process. This never occurred with al-Awlaki. Due to al-Awlaki’s assassination, it sets a legal precedent which allows the current and future Presidents to assassinate US citizens and withhold damning evidence- if there even is any- from the public under the guise of “national security.”
Today, we see due to the brutal crackdown of the Occupy Wall Street movement in Oakland, New York, and most recently Los Angeles, that Americans are being denied their First and Third amendment rights. Mayors are sending the message that if one decides to pose a serious challenge to the status quo, they will be violently crushed.
The Constitution is dead and with it the beliefs and ideals America was founded on have also passed away. The most terrifying occurrence, however, is that Americans are seeing their freedoms eroded are still in denial that a police state is slowly, but surely on its way.

They can evict a space, but they cannot evict an Idea. The idea of civil disobedience has been re-ignited in America, and the people will not stand by while corporations destroy our lives, our country, and our planet.
From here, we can build a stronger climate movement, a transparent government BY THE PEOPLE, and a way to hold our politicians accountable and create jobs.

Occupy Production: A Vision for Democracy at Work
Occupy Production: A Vision for Democracy at Work by Richard D. Wolff
Only then could we avoid repeating yet again the capitalist cycle: (1) economic boom bursting into crisis; followed by (2) mass movements for social welfare reforms and economic regulations; followed by (3) capitalists using their profits to undo achieved reforms and regulations; followed by (1) again, the next capitalist boom, bust and crisis. US capitalism since the crash of 1929 displays this three-step cycle.
In democratized enterprises, the workers who most need and benefit from reforms would dispose of the profits of enterprise. No separate class of employers would exist and use enterprise profits to undo the reforms and regulations workers achieved. Quite the contrary, self-directing workers would pay taxes only if the state secures those reforms and regulations. Democratized enterprises would not permit the inequalities of income and wealth (and ,therefore, of power and cultural access) now typical across the capitalist world.

As the Occupy movement keeps developing, it seeks solutions for the economic and political dysfunctions it exposes and opposes. For many, the capitalist economic system itself is the basic problem. They want change to another system, but not to the traditional socialist alternative (e.g. USSR or China). That system, too, seems to require basic change.
The common solution these activists propose is to change both systems' production arrangements from the ground up. Every enterprise should be democratized. Workers should occupy their enterprise by collectively functioning as its board of directors. That would abolish the capitalist exploitative system (employer versus employee) much as our historical predecessors abolished the parallel exploitative systems of slavery (master versus slave) and feudalism (lord versus serf).
In workers' self-directed enterprises, those who do the work also design and direct it and dispose of its profits: no exploitation of workers by others. Workers participate equally in making all enterprise decisions. The old capitalist elite - the major corporate shareholders and the boards of directors they choose - would no longer decide what, how and where to produce and how to use enterprise profits. Instead, workers - in partnership with residential communities interdependent with their enterprises - would make all those decisions democratically.

Democratized enterprises would not permit the inequalities of income and wealth (and ,therefore, of power and cultural access) now typical across the capitalist world.
Actually existing socialist systems, past and present, also need enterprise democratization. Those systems' socialization of productive property plus central planning (versus capitalism's private property and markets) left far too much unbalanced power centralized in the state. In addition, reforms (guaranteed employment and basic welfare, far less inequality of income and wealth etc.) won by socialist revolutions proved insecure. Private enterprises and markets eventually returned and erased many of those reforms.
Traditional socialism's problems flow also from its undemocratic organization of production. Workers in socialized state enterprises were not self-directed; they did not collectively decide what, how and where to produce nor what to do with the profits. Instead, state officials decided what, how and where to produce and how to dispose of profits. If socialist enterprises were democratized, the state would then depend for its revenue on collectively self-directed workers. That would institutionalize real, concrete control from below to balance state power from above.
Workers' self-directed enterprises are a solution grounded in the histories of both capitalism and socialism. Establishing workers' self-directed enterprises completes what past democratic revolutions began in moving societies beyond monarchies and autocracies. Democratizing production can finally take democracy beyond being merely an electoral ritual that facilitates rule by the 1 percent over the 99 percent.

'Senate bill to turn US into battlefield', 'Occupy' Movement the Target?
![]() |
| © file |
American civil rights activists have censured the country's senate for seeking to allow the military to imprison American citizens without bringing a charge against them.
American rights activists have slammed the US Senate for gearing up to vote on a bill on Monday that would define the whole of the United States as a 'battlefield' and allow the military to arrest American citizens in their own back yard without charge or trial.
The reactions comes after the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said last week that "the senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president-and every future president - the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. The power is so broad that even US citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself."
Under the 'worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial' provision of S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which is set to be up for a vote on the Senate floor Monday, the legislation will "basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield," said South Carolina's left-wing Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who supports the bill.
The bill was drafted in secret by Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), before being passed in a closed-door committee meeting without any kind of hearing, the ACLU added.
This means Americans could be declared domestic terrorists and thrown in a military brig with no recourse whatsoever.
Given that the Department of Homeland Security has characterized behavior such as buying gold, owning guns, using a watch or binoculars, donating to charity, using the telephone or email to find information, using cash, and other instances of mundane behavior as potential indicators of domestic terrorism, such a provision would be wide open to abuse, critics say.
The senate bid comes against a backdrop of protests in the United States where Americans have been holding rallies against the corporatism and corruption on Wall Street.
The so-called 'Occupy' protesters say they are fed up with current economic hardships and are demonstrating against poverty, unemployment, war, and corporatism among other grievances that have plagued the country for several years now.
Protesters say they aim to increase the awareness of the public on the economic injustice in the country.
The Occupy movement emerged after a group of demonstrators gathered in New York's financial district on September 17 to protest the unjust distribution of wealth in the country, and the laws that maintain the distribution.

Israel’s grand hypocrisy: Netanyahu slams ‘anti-liberal’ Arab Spring
![]() |
| © n/a |
As protests raged again across the Middle East, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, offered his assessment of the Arab Spring last week. It was, he said, an “Islamic, anti-western, anti-liberal, anti-Israeli, undemocratic wave”, adding that Israel’s Arab neighbours were “moving not forwards, but backwards”.
It takes some chutzpah – or, at least, epic self-delusion – for Israel’s prime minister to be lecturing the Arab world on liberalism and democracy at this moment.
In recent weeks, a spate of anti-democratic measures have won support from Netanyahu’s rightwing government, justified by a new security doctrine: see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil of Israel. If the legislative proposals pass, the Israeli courts, Israel’s human rights groups and media, and the international community will be transformed into the proverbial three monkeys.
Israel’s vigilant human rights community has been the chief target of this assault. Yesterday Netanyahu’s Likud faction and the Yisrael Beiteinu party of his far-right foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, proposed a new law that would snuff out much of the human rights community in Israel.
The bill effectively divides non-governmental organisations (NGOs) into two kinds: those defined by the right as pro-Israel and those seen as “political”, or anti-Israel. The favoured ones, such as ambulance services and universities, will continue to be lavishly funded from foreign sources, chiefly wealthy private Jewish donors from the United States and Europe.
The “political” ones – meaning those that criticise government policies, especially relating to the occupation – will be banned from receiving funds from foreign governments, their main source of income. Donations from private sources, whether Israeli or foreign, will be subject to a crippling 45 per cent tax.
The grounds for being defined as a “political” NGO are suitably vague: denying Israel’s right to exist or its Jewish and democratic character; inciting racism; supporting violence against Israel; supporting politicians or soldiers being put on trial in international courts; or backing boycotts of the state.
One human rights group warned that all groups assisting the UN's 2009 report report by Judge Richard Goldstone into war crimes committed during Israel’s attack on Gaza in winter 2008 would be vulnerable to such a law. Other organisations like Breaking the Silence, which publishes the testimonies of Israeli soldiers who have committed or witnessed war crimes, will be silenced themselves. And an Israeli Arab NGO said it feared that its work demanding equality for all Israeli citizens, including the fifth who are Palestinian, and an end to Jewish privilege would count as denying Israel’s Jewish character.
At the same time Netanyahu wants the Israeli media emasculated. Last week his government threw its weight behind a new defamation law that will leave few but milionaires in a position to criticise politicians and officials. Mr Netanyahu observed: “It may be called the Defamation Law, but I call it the ‘publication of truth law’.” The media and human rights groups fear the worst.
This monkey must speak no evil.
Another bill, backed by the justice minister, Yaacov Neeman, is designed to skew the make-up of a panel selecting judges for Israel’s supreme court. Several judicial posts are about to fall vacant, and the government hopes to stuff the court with apppointees who share its ideological worldview and will not rescind its anti-democratic legislation, including its latest attack on the human rights community. Neeman’s favoured candidate is a settler who has a history of ruling against human rights organisations.
Senior legislators from Mr Netanyahu’s party are pushing another bill that would make it nigh impossible for human rights organisations to petition the supreme court against government actions.
The judicial monkey should see no evil.
At one level, these and a host of other measures – including increasing government intimidation of the Israeli media and academia, a crackdown on whistleblowers and the recently passed boycott law, which exposes critics of the settlements to expensive court actions for damages – are designed to strengthen the occupation by disarming its critics inside Israel.
But there is another, even more valued goal: making sure that in future the plentiful horror stories from the Palestinian territories – monitored by human rights organisations, reported by the media and heard in the courts – never reach the ears of the international community.
The third monkey is supposed to hear no evil.
The crackdown is justified in the Israeli right’s view on the grounds that criticism of the occupation represents not domestic concerns but unwelcome foreign interference in Israel’s affairs. The promotion of human rights – whether in Israel, the occupied territories or the Arab world – is considered by Netanyahu and his allies as inherently un-Israeli and anti-Israeli.
The hypocrisy is hard to stomach. Israel has long claimed special dispensation to interfere in the affairs of both the EU and the United States. Jewish Agency staff proselytise among European and American Jews to persuade them to emigrate to Israel. Uniquely, Israel’s security agencies are given free rein at airports around the world to harass and invade the privacy of non-Jews flying to Tel Aviv. And Israel’s political proxies abroad – sophisticated lobby groups like AIPAC in the US – act as foreign agents while not registering as such.
Of course, Israel’s qualms against foreign meddling are selective. No restrictions are planned for rightwing Jews from abroad, such as US casino magnate Irving Moskowitz, who have pumped enormous sums into propping up illegal Jewish settlements built on Palestinian land.
There is a faulty logic too to Israel’s argument. As human rights activists point out, the areas where they do most of their work are located not in Israel but in the Palestinian territories, which Israel is occupying in violation of international law.
Privately, European embassies have been trying to drive home this point. The EU gives Israel preferential trading status, worth billions of dollars annually to the Israeli economy, on condition that it respects human rights in the occupied territories. Europe argues it is, therefore, entitled to fund the monitoring of Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians. More’s the pity that Europe fails to act on the information it receives.
Given the right’s strengthening hand, it can be expected to devise ever more creative ways to silence the human rights community and Israeli media and emasculate the courts as way to end the bad press.
Israelis are obssessed with their country’s image abroad and what they regard as a “delegitimisation” campaign that threatens not only the occupation’s continuation but also Israel’s long-term survival as an ethnic state. The leadership has been incensed by regular surveys of global opinion showing Israel ranked among the most unpopular countries in the world.
The Palestinians’ recent decision to turn to the international community for recognition of statehood has only amplified such grievances.
Israel has no intention of altering its policies, or of pursuing peace. Rather, Netanyahu’s government has been oscillating between a desperate desire to pass yet more anti-democratic legislation to stifle criticism and a modicum of restraint motivated by fear of the international backlash.
A cabinet debate last month on legislation against human rights groups focused barely at all on the proposal’s merits. Instead the head of the National Security Council, Yaakov Amidror, was called before ministers to explain whether Israel stood to lose more from passing such bills or from allowing human rights groups to carry on monitoring the occupation.
Deluded as it may seem, Netanyahu’s ultimate goal is to turn the clock back 40 years, to a “golden age” when foreign correspondents and western governments could refer, without blushing, to the occupation of the Palestinians as “benign”.
Donald Neff, Jerusalem correspondent for Time magazine in the 1970s, admitted years later that his and his colleagues’ performance was so feeble at the time in large part because there was little critical information available on the occupation. When he witnessed first-hand what was taking place, his editors in the US refused to believe him and he was eventually moved on.
Now, however, the genie is out the bottle. The international community understands full well – thanks to human rights activists – both that the occupation is brutal and that Israel has been peace-making in bad faith.
If Israel continues on its current course, another myth long accepted by western countries – that Israel is “the only democracy in the Middle East” – may finally be shattered.

Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?
Come on, now,
I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
As I observe the zombie like reactions of Americans to our catastrophic economic highway to collapse, the continued plundering and pillaging of the national treasury by criminal Wall Street bankers, non-enforcement of existing laws against those who committed the largest crime in history, and reaction to young people across the country getting beaten, bludgeoned, shot with tear gas and pepper sprayed by police, I can't help but wonder whether there is anyone home. Why are most Americans so passively accepting of these calamitous conditions? How did we become so comfortably numb? I've concluded Americans have chosen willful ignorance over thoughtful critical thinking due to their own intellectual laziness and overpowering mind manipulation by the elite through their propaganda emitting media machines. Some people are awaking from their trance, but the vast majority is still slumbering or fuming at erroneous perpetrators.
Both the Tea Party movement and the Occupy Wall Street movement are a reflection of the mood change in the country, which is a result of government overreach, political corruption, dysfunctional economic policies, and a financial system designed to enrich the few while defrauding the many. The common theme is anger, frustration and disillusionment with a system so badly broken it appears unfixable through the existing supposedly democratic methods. The system has been captured by an oligarchy of moneyed interests from the financial industry, mega-corporations, and military industrial complex, protected by their captured puppets in Washington DC and sustained by the propaganda peddling corporate media. The differences in political parties are meaningless as they each advocate big government solutions to all social, economic, foreign relations, and monetary issues.

| Comment: The rub, which I talked about here, is now intolerable, if the rub is not sensed according to the manipulation of the shafts mentioned here, it is then seemingly rejected as inappropriate when its true nature serves as the scapegoat, or commonly called the "demon of the desert," which should immediately ring some bells. Having no mark, the goat is left to wander and may eventually be consumed into the void of the Ankh. The political parties help to maintain the imitative parrots who are unable to assume a full house. The intolerant nature is vested both as religious atheism and rejection of knews, which in effect serves the demon or Democracy. These creatures again are self-servicing entities which implies the anti-body function which also eventually has no use. It is as though each time "truth," which is bearing the entire load, is addressed, it is also sensed as atheism, a notion of the mythological Athena who leans on her shaft and assists in the mirroring of illusion for the squirming Medusa. |

| Comment: What is the problem with the parrot head? We could of course associate ponerology or that of pathocracy, which is evident, but what kind of cognitive dissonance generally begets a carriage that can only see self-worth? It is suggested that instead of being aware of the shafts of the horse, the shafts have overtaken the psyche where the reins are manipulated by propaganda such as "see something, say something," or other nonsense that prevents the shafts from making their proper connection between the carriage and the horse. The outside shafts have become mirrors of themselves, part of the anti-body. In this case, the voice will never be found. It may also be that the parrot is not aware of the shafts control and they have embodied the language of the beasts by delusion as emotions are only sexually generated and the worm is formed. Although the parrot would be able to access or defy all the centers, at the same time, he would be unable to connect the shafts to the horse leaving the essence of an animal that is lost. It may also be suggested that Egyptian symbology has already warned of this situation with that of the Ankh, but more research is needed. Whatever the case, parrots like the one that George interviews will eventually kill us all and their virus is seemingly worse than ever. |
The Secret Revolution in North Dakota
The Secret Revolution in North Dakota by Charlene Nelson
North Dakota citizens may abolish property taxes, allowing them more control over government spending. Nearly 30,000 signatures were collected to place the people's initiative on the ballot in June, 2012 that would constitutionally abolish all property taxes in North Dakota.
This landmark measure supports property rights, small government and freedom advocates around the country.
If the initiative is successful, North Dakota will be the first state to abolish all property taxes, both state and local, and will provide a model for the other states to do the same. North Dakota may be the first state to kick off the property rights revolution!
Since 1978 the state legislature has amended, altered or "reformed" property tax 134 times.
This tells us that the tax cannot be fixed.
Legislation to abolish property tax was introduced in the 2009 legislative session. The bill was defeated. There was even an attempt to turn the bill into a study to investigate the issue and that even failed.
Since the initiative qualified for the ballot, several city and county groups have come out in opposition to the measure, in direct violation of state law. The hysteria coming from government leaders include threats that this will be the end of public education, fire and police protection will be terminated, and there will be no more roads (remember that roads are funded through the gas tax).
If the measure passes, two very important issues will be addressed in order to pare down the size of government and spending:
1. The initiative mandates that schools and local governments must be "fully and properly funded" before the state can address any other budgeting (like special interests).
2. The measure also states that all "legal obligations" must be funded. Legal obligations are:
These two points will spark a whole new level of public discourse on the proper role of government and citizen involvement.
In addition to forcing the state to prioritize spending, it will also compel them to scrutinize current and future spending, especially if they want to avoid increasing taxes.
According to the Beacon Hill Institute study on EmpowerTheTaxpayer. blogspot.com, there is no need to increase taxes to “pay for” the missing property tax revenues. By putting an extra $3000-4000 in each family's pocket, the state will enjoy an increase in sales and income tax revenues. Businesses will invest more heavily in our local economy, while the need for some government employees will vanish. The state's economy will improve without increasing any taxes.
The national mainstream media is not covering this story. The NEA has pledged $4-5 million to fight passage of the measure -- this in a state where a Senate race costs less than $1 million. They clearly see the national impact this measure will generate and want to stop it before any other states get any bright ideas.
North Dakota is one of the cheapest places to run a campaign, so if we get good support not only will this measure pass in our state, but we will see it being promoted in other states as well.

A. Statutory -- the things that the state has directed local government to fund.
B. Contractual obligations -- spending that the counties and cities have taken on through contracts like bonds, special construction, etc. After schools, local governments and legal obligations are funded and the real debate begins! Does the city, county or state have the obligation to fund a museum or an art festival? Most people would say 'no'. Does that mean that the local government can't fund museums or art festivals? This is an issue of real self rule and local control. If the people really, truly feel they must have a museum or a new hockey rink, then they can vote themselves a new tax to fund it—a sales tax or user fee or special assessment or whatever. They just can't fund it with property tax.

Charlene Nelson has been a resident of North Dakota for 18 years. She was the State Chairman of the Constitution party for eight years and led the petitioning to get three presidential candidates on the ballot in North Dakota. In 2001 Charlene was the chairman of Protect Our Privacy, the citizen's group that successfully repealed SB2919. This bill allowed banks to sell people's personal financial information and in repealing it, we saw a major victory for privacy protection. In 2008, Charlene was the State Campaign manager for Ron Paul's presidential campaign. Under her leadership, North Dakota was the first state to win double digit percentages for Ron Paul in the February caucus—winning 22% of the vote and tying for second place. For the last three years, Charlene has been the State Coordinator for Campaign for Liberty. Campaign for Liberty is a citizen activist group that educates people on political issues and effective activism. It encourages people to change their country and restore freedom by taking a role in the political process. Charlene believes in leading by example and has run for office. Are Americans (Israel) (sic) the New Nazis? War profiteers steal BILLIONS!
Lately there has been a record number of US soldiers convicted of theft and bribery. But many war time contractors get money to build hospitals that never open and jails that never hold any prisoners. These contractors that have stolen billions from tax payers have complete impunity from the justice system. Congress has since cut the funding to these contractors, but their report will be sealed until 2031. Gayane Chichakyan reports.

Occupy South Carolina Wins Round One in Free Speech Battle With Governor
Occupy South Carolina Wins Round One in Free Speech Battle With Governor by Brandon Turbeville
In what is a small victory for the Occupy protestors in South Carolina and a major victory (at least for now) for free speech, a Richland County judge has issued a temporary restraining order against Governor Nikki Haley in attempt to remove the Occupy demonstrators from the State Capitol grounds.
The temporary restraining order prevents the protesters from being arrested for “occupying” the State house lawn until the permanent injunction hearing is settled next week.
The confrontation between the Governor and the protesters came to a head on November 16 when the S.C. Bureau of Protective Services, the law enforcement agency tasked with provided security for State institutions in South Carolina, were ordered by Governor Nikki Haley to arrest any and all protesters on the State House Lawn after 6 pm, a curfew she herself unilaterally declared. Haley apparently believes that the Governor has the right to determine who can protest, how, and when they can do so. All of this, obviously, is outside of the rule of law and is a direct violation of the Constitution.
The S.C. Bureau of Protective Services, of course, followed orders and removed the protesters on the evening of November 16, arresting 19 of them.
Haley claims the reason for her decision is that, according to her (and no other credible sources), protesters have been urinating and defecating in the bushes, but also for aesthetic concerns such as the “proliferation of mattresses, sleeping bags, and tarps.”
Haley stated:
Second, camping outside in the elements on the lawn of the State House is not “on the taxpayer dime.” There are no lodging fees for the State House grounds and, even if there were, the protesters are not receiving government (taxpayer) funds with which to protest.
Third, in regards to disrespecting the taxpayers, Haley might do well to understand that the protesters are taxpayers also. They are not a separate type of citizen, as bad as she might wish them to be. After all, in the midst of a depression some could consider Haley’s Five Star trips to France “on the taxpayer dime” a sign of disrespect.
Fourth, there has been no credible evidence (or even reports) of public urination at the State House grounds as a result of the Occupy protests. In fact, in a letter written to Nikki Haley by fellow reactionary State Senator Harvey Peeler, it was claimed that the protesters actually had a Port-O-Jon at the campsite. This was one of the reasons that Peeler wanted to see them evicted. But, unfortunately for the reactionaries, this goes against the “urinating in the bushes” claims made by Haley. If the protestors had a Port-O-Jon, why would they be urinating and defecating in the bushes? Did they bring it along merely as a stage prop?
The answer here is simple. Like most claims made by Nikki Haley, what we are hearing regarding the Occupiers is simply not true. At best, Haley’s comments and statistics are ripped straight from Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity. More often than not, however, they are just invented out of thin air.
This is, after all, a Governor who once claimed that anyone receiving State unemployment should be forced to undergo mandatory drug testing before receiving their money. Her argument was to use the Savannah River site as a microcosm of the unemployment situation in South Carolina. According to Haley, over half of the applicants to a local government facility had failed the drug test and this was emblematic of those who are unemployed today.
The problem for Haley was that this never actually happened. In fact, the claims couldn’t have been further from the truth.

'If these folks want to make their voices heard in an appropriate way, they can have at it. But it has to be done within the bounds of the law. They are not going to be allowed to disrespect the taxpayers or their property. No overnight stays on the taxpayer dime. No public urination. No destruction of property. This is not Oakland, California. This is not New York City. Protests are fine. But in South Carolina we believe in the rule of law, and the people of this state should never doubt that as governor, I will enforce it.'In light of recent events across the country having to do with the Occupy protests, Haley’s comments bear some attention and clarification.First, Haley’s twisted sense of the “rule of law” apparently only applies to the protesters who, ironically, are acting well within the law, unlike their Governor who has violated the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by establishing a curfew and then ordering arrests of peaceful protesters on public property.
Second, camping outside in the elements on the lawn of the State House is not “on the taxpayer dime.” There are no lodging fees for the State House grounds and, even if there were, the protesters are not receiving government (taxpayer) funds with which to protest.

George Orwell’s guide to the news
![]() |
| George Orwell’s '1984' wasn't meant to be a guide... |
The Western mainstream media falsifies the news resorting to euphemisms, half-truths and lies in the best (worst) style of George Orwell’s novel 1984. We all live in the unreal world of “Newspeak” used by the Global Power Elite to control our minds.
Man gets confused when things that happen around him and to him, or which are done in his name, cannot be properly grasped, understood or made sense of. Normally, such confusion leads to inaction. If you’re lost at night in the middle of a forest but you can still see the stars, then a bit of astronomical knowledge will at least quickly tell you which way is north. But if it’s cloudy or you’re ignorant of the constellations in starry heaven, then you might as well light up a fire and do nothing until dawn…. You’re Lost!
Today, mainstream media coverage uses programmed distortion, confusion, even outright lying when its Money Power masters order it to support the “official story” on any major political, economic or financial process. When looked at closely, however, the “official story” of things can be seen to be inaccurate, misleading, often hardly believable if not downright stupid.
Examples of this: Iraq’s inexistent WMD’s leading to the invasion and destruction of that country; global mega-banker bail-outs with taxpayer money; irrational US diplomatic, military, financial and ideological alignment to Israeli objectives; “we-killed-Osama-Bin-Laden-and-dumped-his-body-into-the-sea”; and the wide array of “whodunits” surrounding 9/11 in New York and Washington, 7/7 in London, the AMIA/Israeli Embassy attacks in Buenos Aires in 1992/1994, and – of course – that all time favorite: who shot JFK…?
These are but a few of the paradigmatic cases that have at least served to trigger millions of people to wake up and think with their own minds instead of the mainstream media’s! But unfortunately the vast majority of such cases are not so clear-cut. The vast majority of Newspeak lies are like knots, difficult to untie as they carry built-in complexity resembling Gordian Knots. And, as with all Gordian Knots, you need to cut right through them, and this requires swift and precise action plus a good measure of intellectual courage.
To give an example of what we say, let’s take a quick look at how a “Newspeak” operation works. It requires sequential planning, it requires time, it requires proper logistics, it requires “credible” spokespeople in public and private sectors, it requires choosing the right words and images at the right time and in the right circumstances.
So, let’s say the Global Power Elite – working through the governments of the US, UK, EU into which they are deeply embedded, and joint-venturing with a wide array of media outlets, defense companies, oil companies, security and construction companies, and powerful lobbies – decide that they wish to overrun and destroy a specific country… Libya, for example…
How do they ensure that “the international community” will just quietly look on (except for the still relatively small minority of voices that are increasingly raising hell against them)?
The Seven Step Mainstream Media Country Destruction Guide
1. First, they start by targeting a country ripe for “Regime Change”, and brand it a “rogue state”; then…
2. They arm, train, finance local terrorist groups through CIA, MI6, Mossad, Al-Qaeda (a CIA operation), drug cartels (often CIA operations) and call them “freedom fighters”; then…
3. As mock UN Security Council Resolutions are staged that rain death and destruction upon millions of civilians, they call it “UN sanctions to protect civilians”; then…
4. They spread flagrant lies through their “newsrooms” and paid journalists, and call it "the international community’s concerns expressed by prestigious spokespeople and analysts…” then…
5. They bomb, invade and begin to control the target country and call it “liberation”; then…
6. As the target country falls fully under their control, they impose “the kind of democracy that we want to see” (as Hillary Clinton before visiting Egypt and Tunisia on March 10, 2011), until finally…
7. They steal appetizing oil, mineral and agricultural reserves handing them over to Global Power Elite corporations, and impose unnecessary private banking debt and call it “foreign investment and reconstruction.”
Their keynotes are: Force and Hypocrisy, which they have used time and again to destroy entire countries, always in the name of “freedom”, “democracy”, “peace” and “human rights”. Utmost force and violence is used to achieve their ends and goals.
Their Elders recommended this many decades ago in a blueprint for World Domination written on a hoary manuscript of old…
“What did you say…? That you don’t want to be ‘liberated’ and ‘democratized’?!?”
“Then, take this Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Hanoi, Berlin, Dresden, Baghdad, and Basra!! Take that Tokyo, Gaza, Lebanon, Kabul, Pakistan, Tripoli, Belgrade, Egypt, El Salvador and Grenada!! And take that, Panama, Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Somalia, Africa!!”
Always bombing people to smithereens… Always, of course, in the name of “freedom”, “democracy”, “peace” and “human rights”

Occupy Wall Street must liberate America
November 28, 2011: Occupy Wall Street must liberate America by Greg Felton
If the U.S. were a genuine republic, Congress would pass laws to protect the public, not exploit it, and the police would uphold the law and keep the peace, not break the law and foment unrest. Based on this rather obvious depiction of recent events, we may safely conclude that the U.S. is not a republic in any democratic sense of the word.
As I show in my book The Host and the Parasite, the U.S. has degenerated into a police state run by a cabal that worships corporate greed and owes a prior allegiance to a foreign state—Israel. As Pat Buchanan famously observed in 1990: “Capitol Hill is Israeli occupied territory.”
This Israeli occupation, though, is the real story behind the “Occupy [insert city] Movement,” not the burgeoning, populist protest. Yet somehow the absurdity of a politically and economically disenfranchised American public occupying an already occupied country has escaped the media’s notice.
Leaving aside the pro-Israel bias built into the mainstream media, the name “Occupy Wall Street” is part of the problem. It focuses attention on the occupiers of Wall Street not the reason for the occupation. It allows the authorities to misrepresent the protestors as disaffected radicals who are interested only in pushing an anti-establishment agenda against the interests of the nation.
If looked at properly, the occupy movement is really a liberation movement aimed at rescuing some semblance of American republicanism from the pre-existing Israeli occupation. Imagine if the country’s money supply were controlled by the publicly owned Treasury Department, not a privately owned pro-Israel corporation (The Federal Reserve); if foreign policy were made in the U.S.’s national interest, not Israel’s; and if the rule of law were defended, not subverted. In such a world the “occupy” movement need never have arisen.
The occupy movement needs to take a cue from Egypt, where the main protest is held in Tahrir [“Liberate”] Square and where the real enemy is openly identified. In short, “Occupy Wall Street” needs to evolve into “Liberate America.” As a word, “occupy” is static and self-referential, and does not speak to anything outside of itself. “Liberate” speaks to a positive outcome beyond the present protest, and, most importantly, calls attention to the need for liberation, and this in turn invites investigation into those who are denying Americans their liberty.
Admittedly,“Liberate Wall Street” doesn’t have the right ring and sounds incongruously sympathetic to those responsible for the banking fiasco, yet it would be to call attention to the real occupation, because the acceleration of zionist control of the U.S. that came with the election of Ronald Reagan in 1980 neatly coincides with the beginnings of the banking crisis.
University of Connecticut law professor Patricia McCoy identifies two pieces of legislation from these early Reagan years that are directly responsible for the current banking/mortgage crisis.
The first is the Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980 (DIDMCA). It abolished state usury caps that limited the interest rate banks could charge on primary mortgages, and made possible predatory lending to vulnerable, poor Americans whose credit would normally have disqualified them from home ownership loans.
The second, and more serious, piece of legislation was the Alternative Mortgage Transactions Parity Act of 1982 (AMTPA). It allowed banks to offer more than conventional fixed-rate, amortizing mortgages stipulated by law. With usury laws now rendered impotent, banks now engaged in the kind of irresponsible lending that sent millions of Americans into foreclosure:
• Adjustable-rate mortgages, where the interest rate float after a number of years;
• Balloon-payment mortgages, which have an oversized payment when the loan comes due.
• Interest-only mortgages, which require only interest payments during the first few years then hit borrowers with crushing monthly payment resets.
• And the option-ARM, which allows borrowers to underpay by as much as they want during the first few years, but the unpaid monthly interest gets tacked onto the end of the loan, so a $300,000 mortgage can turn into a $350,000 loan in a hurry, thus destroying equity.
These heretofore illegal lending practices grew even more illegal after 1999 when the 1933 Glass-Steagal Act was repealed. The act formally separated the activities of investment banks (which issued securities) and commercial banks (which accept deposits), and prohibited investment bankers from serving in the boards of commercial banks. The 1999 passage of the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act essentially decriminalized these conflicts of interest, with the result that bloated composite banks with bad mortgage debts would set off a chain of failures throughout the entire banking industry.
It’s hard to connect corrupt banking practices directly with the zionization of the U.S., but by duping the American lower classes the banks did end up serving Israel by distracting the nation from the invasion of Iraq. In The Wandering Who—a masterful critique of Jewishness, Zionism and Israel—musician and philosopher Gilad Atzmon made the connection:
“The overall U.S. homeownership rate increased from 64 percent in 1994 to a peak in 2004 with an all-time high of 69.2 percent. Real estate had become the leading business in America; more and more speculators invested money in the business. During 2006, 22 percent of homes purchased (1.65 million units) were for investment purposes, with an additional 14 percent (1.07 million units) purchased as vacation homes.
“These figures led Americans to believe that their economy was indeed booming. And when an economy is booming, nobody is really interested in foreign affairs, certainly not in a million dead Iraqis. But then the grave reality dawned on the many struggling, working class Americans and immigrants, who were failing to pay back money they didn't have in the first place.”
For a detailed analysis of Israel’s powers of financial and political extortion over the U.S. see the analysis by the Council for the National Interest in Veterans Today. Most disturbing from a financial point of view is that the Congress pays out all of Israel’s aid [sic] in one lump sum at the beginning of the year into an interest bearing account at the Federal Reserve. That means the U.S. forces its citizens to pay interest on the money it gives to Israel, while Israel makes a profit, and keeps it at the same private corporation that controls the U.S. money supply!
The American public will do without jobs, health insurance, housing or food, but Congress has ensured that Israel will never want for anything. If Americans are ever to take back their country, they need to take back control of their money and that means exposing and reversing the Zionist occupation of Wall Street.

Why is the American establishment media sanitizing reality?
Why is the American establishment media sanitizing reality? by Madison Ruppert
The December 5th, 2011 cover of Time Magazine represents a disturbing truth: the American corporate-controlled establishment media presents a picture of the world that is meant to placate and pacify the people of the United States in favor of presenting reality as it is.
While the covers of the European, Asian, and South Pacific editions have an image of chaos in the streets in Egypt with “Revolution Redux” in bold white letters in the center, the American edition is a cartoon with the headline “Why Anxiety is Good for You.”
Is this just a meaningless marketing tactic or does it exemplify the greater trend in how the American corporate media presents the world to the people of the United States?
I tend towards the latter, given the fact that this is something that is inescapable when consuming media marketed to people in the United States.
When I have the unfortunate pleasure of turning on the radio and listening to National Public Radio, I never cease to be amazed by the topics they choose to cover.
While much of the economies of the world are in shambles, uprisings both real and manufactured are occurring around the globe, brutal police crackdowns are taking place in the United States and the federal governmentis attempting to legalize indefinite military detention of civilians, even American citizens, without trial or charge, they opt for fluff stories with little-to-no meaning whatsoever.
This is the unfortunate nature of the “infotainment” industry that appeals to the lowest common denominator instead of attempting to inform and educate their audience.
The debatable aspect of this grim fact is if it is simply a result of sacrificing information and content in favor of ratings or if it is a calculated agenda to dumb down the American people.
I tend to fall into the camp of people who believe that this has been too pervasive and relentless to be the product of just doing whatever it takes to get ratings.
Take, for instance, the recent study that found that viewers of Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News were actually less informed about current events than people who watched no news at all.
While this probably seems like a somewhat obvious conclusion to anyone who has sat down and watched Fox News, the fact that it was actually shown in a study is quite surprising.
Then again, when their own hosts don’t watch the entire clips they are covering and supposed legal experts claim that pepper spray is a food product while proving they are wholly ignorant of California legal precedent, one can’t expect much.
The poll was conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University and utilized 612 New Jersey natives. Fans of Fox News failed questions about Syria and Egypt, even when compared with people who said they didn’t watch the news.
The New York Daily News wrote, “Fox News fans flunked questions about Egypt and Syria when compared with people who don’t watch the news. Fox viewers were 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians toppled their government and 6 points less likely to be aware that Syrians have not yet overthrown theirs.”
That being said, I might point out that the Egyptians did not in fact “topple their government” instead they ousted Mubarak and replaced him with an arguably even more brutal military junta.
Dan Cassino, a professor at Fairleigh Dickinson and an analyst for the poll said that since they controlled for partisanship, this was not a question of Republicans or other groups being more prone to watch Fox News.
The results actually found, “there is something about watching Fox News that leads people to do worse on these questions that those (sic) who don’t watch any news at all.”
How can this happen? Is it just that they are seeking to entertain and not really inform? Or are news outlets like Murdoch’s Fox News actually there to make the American people perpetually ignorant?
The mainstream media presents such a limited spectrum of the information out there, especially when it comes to broadcast television, that it is hard to believe that it could simply be a natural result of the push for ratings over all else.
The world view presented by the establishment media is so consistent and carefully crafted that it would be quite surprising if they all happened to decide to present such a version of reality completely independently.
This outlook claims that the economy recovered when the government said the recession was officially over, that the government told us the whole truth about the attacks of September 11th, 2001, and that we are never deceived about the true intentions behind conflicts abroad.
However, reality continues to smash through this false paradigm presented to us by the establishment media and with every passing week another crippling blow slams into the false narrative.
Despite the efforts of Time to present a cartoon and a light-hearted cover story as the most important news, much of America is realizing that there is truly important information out there that is just waiting for them.
The most fatal flaw of the establishment media is the Orwellian doublethink that is used on a disturbingly common basis.
One of the most glaring examples in recent history is the case of Libya where al Qaeda-affiliated and rabidly racist rebels who are comprised mostly of fighters belonging to designated terrorist organizations became freedom fighters and pro-democracy protesters.
While we are supposed to praise and laud these murderers according to the corporate media, we are still supposed to believe that the al Qaeda bogeymen are around every corner hoping to blow us up.
A slightly more obscure example from September of this year came up when Fox News was covering the usage of weather modification, also known as geoengineering, to combat a drought in Texas.
While weather modification is an irrefutable fact, it is still nonsensically treated as a conspiracy theory in some circles.
When they speak about it on the mainstream media it is a normal and acceptable solution to environmental problems, but if you speak about it you’re labeled a conspiracy theorist.
Unfortunately this type of blatant doublethink and outright deception is becoming more prevalent and the upcoming Time cover is a great example of how the events of the world are shaped and spun in the American mainstream media to keep the people of the United States from becoming agitated or asking too many questions.
Thankfully, there is the alternative media which is growing independent of traditional news organizations and funding sources thanks to readers and business owners who are willing to support the new wave in journalism.
We will continue to present the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, while the establishment media continues to present dumbed-down nonsense which will only serve to drive their viewers to sources of real information.

Occupy OKC Members Mic Check Wal-Mart. This is the first Wal-Mart stop of the evening (in Oklahoma City), where peaceful activists were asked to leave the store and exited without incident. This happened at the second stop as well, then 10 activists were forcibly attacked and arrested at the third stop of the evening, in the Del City Wal-Mart.

Occupy Oakland Black Friday Action at Target and Ikea
Occupy Oakland Black Friday Action at Target and Ikea
We entered Target on black friday, 2011, with coupons offering people hand-crafted gifts, and telling them about some of the worst things Target has recently done. We shopped for tents, tarps, and RED items, filling carts and then going to the checkout stands. We then coordinated everyone abandoning their carts, leaving them jammed in the checkouts. The flyers were passed out as we all moved to IKEA. "Shop local" and "Stop Sweatshops" banners were dropped from the parking lot between the two corporate department stores. We then repeated the same action in IKEA, and mic checked at the end, to remind people to shop in downtown Oakland instead of giving their money to the same corporations that rob us all and mistreat workers, as well as taking jobs from Americans and exporting them overseas. Props to OccupySF, who were, at the same time, shutting down corporate stores in SF with sit-ins. We did not do this to frustrate customers or workers. However, we find it quite hard to have our voices heard in this culture unless we wave our hands in front of the eyes of those who are still lost in the American Dream. The handmande gifts were offered specifically to anyone who was effected negatively by this event. Peace!

Black Friday Violence Worse Than Ever As American Consumers Fight Over Deals Like Crazed Animals
![]() |

We all knew that this was coming, didn't we? Each year Black Friday violence just seems to get worse and worse. What does it say about American consumers when they are willing to fight like crazed animals just to save a few bucks on cheap plastic crap made in China? Not that retailers are innocent in any of this. It certainly seems as though many of them purposely create wild situations on Black Friday where customers will rush like crazy people into their stores and nearly riot as they fight over discounted merchandise. The more Black Friday madness there is, the more of an "event" it becomes, and the higher the profits of the retailers go.
This year there was more Black Friday hype than ever and there was also more Black Friday violence than ever. It is being projected that this year a record-setting 152 million Americans will go shopping between Thanksgiving and Sunday night. That may be good news for the big corporate retailers, but the shocking lack of character being displayed by American consumers all over the country this weekend is very bad news for the future of this nation.
Most Americans would agree that there is a tremendous amount of selfishness and greed on Wall Street, but as the videos posted below demonstrate, there is also a tremendous amount of selfishness and greed on "Main Street" as well.
This year, Black Friday violence included robberies, gunfire and shootings, but the most shocking incidents actually happened inside the big retail stores.
For example, as merchandise was being unveiled on Black Friday night at a Wal-Mart in the Los Angeles area, one woman actualy pulled out pepper spray and sprayed it at other customers that were gathered around her.
Did she do this because she felt threatened?
No, according to the Los Angeles Times, authorities say that the woman was just seeking a "competitive" edge.
It is being reported that at least 20 people were affected by the pepper spray.
The pepper spray incident just added to the wild and frenzied atmosphere inside that Wal-Mart last night.
The following is how the Los Angeles Times described the scene....
Employees attempted to hold back the scrum of shoppers and pick up merchandise even as customers trampled the video games and DVDs strewn on the floor.Pepper spray was used at a Wal-Mart on the other side of the country as well. Over in Kinston, North Carolina an off-duty police officer used pepper spray as an unruly shopper was being subdued. Approximately 20 people (including some children) were affected by the pepper spray.
"It was absolutely crazy," he said.
Another customer said screams erupted after about 100 people waiting in line to snag Xbox gaming consoles and Wii video games got into a shoving match.
Alejandra Seminario, 24, said she was waiting in line to grab some toys at the store around 9:55 p.m. when people the next aisle over started shouting and ripping at the plastic wrap encasing gaming consoles, which was supposed to be opened at 10 p.m.
"People started screaming, pulling and pushing each other, and then the whole area filled up with pepper spray," the Sylmar resident said.
Most Americans are not really concerned over the fact that this country is rapidly heading into the toilet, but they sure will get worked up into a frenzy over some good deals. Just check out the following video that was filmed in California. In the video, a huge crowd can be seen storming the entrance of Urban Outfitters in the Thousand Oaks Mall on Black Friday night....
There are lots of other crazy videos of Black Friday madness on YouTube today as well. Just check out some of the following examples....
- In Fresno, California law enforcement authorities were barely able to keep a stampede at the entrance of one store from turning into a riot.
- In this next video, you can see people going absolutely crazy over memory cards at about the 1:20 mark.
- On Black Friday night, American consumers will riot over just about anything. For example, there was a huge panic over Tupperware at one Wall-Mart last night.
- Of course electronics is probably the hottest category in most stores on Black Friday night. In some areas, the fighting over video games became incredibly intense.
- Some of the worst Black Friday rioting goes on inside Wal-Marts. Just check out this shocking video of what happens inside a Wal-Mart on Black Friday night.
- Also, what happened last night at a Wal-mart Supercenter in Greenville, North Carolina, was nothing short of idiotic.
If Americans will literally fight each other over saving 20 bucks, what is going to happen someday when millions of them don't know where their next meal is going to come from?
Thankfully the economy is still in good enough shape that most Americans can participate in these orgies of consumerism. But the reality is that the global financial system is in a massive amount of trouble, and it looks like we could be on the verge of another global financial collapse.
Do the American people have enough character to be able to deal with a full-blown economic depression?
In a recent article entitled "22 Signs That The Thin Veneer Of Civilization That We All Take For Granted Is Starting To Disappear", I commented on the declining character of the American people....
Instead of teaching our children to love and care for one another, we have taught them to be incredibly self-involved. Today, way too many Americans deeply love themselves, deeply love money and are deeply addicted to entertainment. Each new generation seems to be even more prideful, even more arrogant and even more violent. As a nation, we are losing our empathy for others, our compassion for the needy and our respect for the elderly. Our family units are breaking down and thousands of our communities are being transformed into hellholes.Over the past several decades, the biggest debt bubble in the history of the world has enabled us to enjoy unprecedented prosperity. But it has been a "false prosperity", and it is frightening to think about what America is going to look like when the good times finally end.
The other thing that is really disturbing about Black Friday is the fact that the vast majority of the products that Americans are fighting over are made overseas.
As I pointed out recently, 23 manufacturing facilities were shut down every single day in the United States last year.
Since 2001, the U.S. has lost a total of more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities.
This country is bleeding jobs, bleeding businesses and bleeding wealth at a pace that is nearly impossible to fully grasp.
We are becoming poorer as a nation every single day, and yet Americans are seemingly more enamored with consumerism than ever before.
Most Americans could not care less about where something was made. The only thing that matters to them is how cheap it is.
It doesn't matter to them that a record-setting 2.6 million Americans slipped into poverty last year or that there are 10 percent fewer middle class jobs in America today than there were a decade ago.
We have become a nation that is so self-centered that it is hard to find the words to describe it.
Rather than caring about what is good for America, most of us only care about what is good for ourselves.
The madness that we see every Black Friday is just one more sign that our society is coming apart at the seams.
America has become a nation that is absolutely saturated with greed. Unfortunately, all of that greed is going to make the hard economic times that are coming much, much more painful.

Occupy LA intensifies as cops prepare for crackdown - RT
Early Monday morning, Occupy LA protesters were ordered to evacuate their campsite and if they failed to comply people would be arrested. Dozens upon dozens of Los Angeles police were suited up in riot gear to prepare for the mass arrests. The mayor had given the protesters until midnight to vacate the premises, but hundreds more gathered. Ramon Galindo has the latest.

Dirty Money: "Wiped off the Map" revisited (again)
"Wiped off the Map" revisited (again) - YayaCanada
The Jewish National Fund of Canada website shows "Canada Park" built on ethnically cleansed and destroyed villages inside the Occupied West Bank.
The JNF Canada website map clearly shows the West Bank Palestinian villages ethnically cleansed and destroyed and then covered up by JNF's "Canada Park".
The dotted line shows the "Green Line" border between Israel and the West Bank, with the JNF website map showing Canada Park clearly within the Occupied Territory of the West Bank.
The construction of JNF's illegal "Canada Park" has been knowingly and willingly subsidized by the Canadian Government. JNF donors know this. Canadian MPs and Senators know this. Canada Revenue knows this. Canada’s Charities Directorate knows this. Canada’s mainstream media know this. The CBC (video) knows this. It’s public knowledge.
