An attempted color revolution backed by Wall Street unfolded in Bangkok, Thailand in 2010, leaving 91 dead. Since then, Wall Street as well as its proxies inside of Thailand have attempted to blame all 91 deaths on the Thai military despite overwhelming evidence proving armed militants were involved in the protests -- this foreshadowed the techniques now being used on a larger scale in Syria.

High profile deaths including those of foreign journalists caught in the crossfire have become political points of leverage for Wall Street's media machine (a technique also reused in Syria) and their Thai proxy, billionaire Thaksin Shinawatra. Unfortunately the same craven political stunt employed at the expense of fallen Reuters journalist Hiro Muramoto who was killed during the April 10, 2010 night ambush of Thai troops, is now being used regarding the death of an Italian journalist by the Thai police currently headed by Thaksin Shinawatra's own brother-in-law.

Police General Priewpan Damapong was appointed as head of Thailand's police shortly after Thaksin's own sister took office last July, with much support from Wall Street & London and demonstrating a breathtaking display of third-world nepotism. Damapong, it should be noted, also just recently, and very eagerly, backed claims by both the US and Israel regarding the false flag Bangkok bombing pinned on Iran - illustrating just how interconnected these geopolitical ploys are regardless of geographic distance.

Claims regarding "new evidence" that Italian journalist Fabio Polenghi was killed by a high-velocity bullet during 2010's unrest, and not an M-79 grenade as previously thought, and therefore "clearly" implicating government troops, echos of similar claims by Thaksin's associates in regards to Muramoto's death and conveniently ignores the fact that both government troops and Thaksin's militants employed not only assault rifles firing high velocity bullets, but both fielded weapons that fired the exact same 5.56mm rounds claimed by Thaksin and his opposition to only have been used by government troops.

 We climbed the hill at Al Khader, overlooking Bethlehem, and marvelled at the view of the city and, to our right, the extensive Israeli settlement of Gilo.

Reaching the summit, Mohammed and I paused. Ahead was the building-site that marked the progress of the Annexation Wall; the scarred landscape, the bulldozers, the watchtower, the fences. A hundred metres away was a Palestinian house hemmed in on three sides by the worksite; for its inhabitants, life would never be the same. Mohammed was staring at the ugliness with infinite sadness.

"This is our land," he said. "Part of me is lost."

Each stolen duram, each burnt olive grove , every racially-segregated road, each fence, barrier, wall cutting through the landscape denying access to crops, dividing families, each scar on the landscape is mirrored by the scar on the soul of a Palestinian.

An hour later we were driving through the long tunnel to Beit Hanina, its only entrance. We noted the barrier that could be placed across the road to block access to and from the town. Beyond it, the residents lived in their own little Palestinian ghetto.

The Mayor and his associates showed us what was left of this once vibrant community. Two settlements, settler-only roads and the wall which divides Palestine from its capital Jerusalem had split the town in two and devastated its cultural and economic life, as well the landscape.
The beloved country was despoiled; and it wept.

Opposite the under-funded Palestinian school we observed the nearer of the two settlements with its huge swathes of "sterile" ground. Sterile now, certainly; settler youths had rolled burning tyres down the hillside and destroyed olive groves that had been lovingly tended for generations. The owners could only watch as their land and history was destroyed.

In the distance was the "other" Beit Hanina, separated by Israeli decree from the West Bank and its citizens by a wall. On our side, families could see the homes of relatives and friends with whom they once gossiped and drank coffee, a kilometre away, but not sit with them, not touch them. It now required a ten kilometre journey, an Israeli pass and passage through checkpoints to meet loved ones.

"The land belongs to us," said the Mayor. "They have taken it from us."

The children of Beit Hanina were playing in the dusty, crumbling roads as we left. No playgrounds for them. Outside the walls of settlements all over Palestine, the children of the rightful owners of the land can sometimes just make out the spic- and- span, well-equipped playgrounds given to the settler children. Sometimes, the sound of laughter is carried on the wind to the dispossessed.

We were travelling to Nablus when Mohammed suddenly turned off the main road along a rural, narrow road guarded by two gun-wielding Israeli soldiers who took a surprising interest in a Palestinian family and their British friend. After he was allowed to continue driving along a road in his own country, we came to the outskirts of the small village of Saffarin. It is a humble place and the villagers, as everywhere in Palestine, greeted strangers with warm smiles.

Mohammed stopped the car and climbed out carrying a small plastic bag. I was mystified as he went to the side of the road and shovelled some of the soil into a small plastic bag. He was smiling as he returned, enjoying my puzzlement.

"This is our soil," he said, "The soil of Saffarin, the soil of Palestine."

He had collected it for a friend condemned to exile in a foreign country, a friend who dreamt of his homeland and the village of Saffarin where he was born. Mohammed had been asked to send him some of the soil so he could smell it and touch it, a small part of Palestine that he could run through his fingers.

Our land, our soil. Despoiled, scarred, wounded, occupied and annexed. The Palestinian dream of liberation is rooted too deep to be thwarted by watchtowers, settler roads, fences and walls or Israeli soldiers. A day that had begun with Mohammed’s pain in Al Khader ended with the realisation that the invisible, spiritual connection between Palestinians and the land of Palestine cannot be broken.

The New York Times has reported that Pentagon officials considered burying the remains of Pentagon 9/11 attack victims at sea. But they decided that would be too honorable. So they burned them and dumped them with the other garbage in a landfill.

How to explain such disrespect?

Were they in a rush to get rid of evidence? Maybe. After all, the family members of the 19 identity-theft victims who took the rap for 9/11 have been begging for DNA testing, and the US government has repeatedly turned them down. Perhaps the coverup team did not want any evidence about who really died on 9/11 (and who didn’t) preserved and potentially available for independent examination. Burn the bodies, dump them at sea…anything to make sure they’re gone forever.

Just like with the alleged corpse of Bin Laden.

Calling burial at sea “an Islamic custom” was an insane insult to the world’s 1. 5 billion Muslims. And the whole “we killed Bin Laden and threw him in the ocean” story is an insane insult to the intelligence of the world.

But it’s one thing to lie outrageously about Bin Laden and to (allegedly) desecrate his corpse. It’s another thing to desecrate the bodies of American 9/11 victims.

This seemingly bizarre contempt for American victims suggests that the top of the command chain of the US Armed Forces viewed American 9/11 dead not as innocent victims and martyrs, but as “wasted” enemies.
After all, if you’re a trained military killer, you “waste” your enemy. Whether dead or alive, he’s just human waste. You kill him unreflectively, with Pavlovian efficiency. His remains are waste. They go in the dump.
That’s how the top of the command chain treated American 9/11 victims. (And, later, the soldiers hoodwinked into fighting the 9/11 wars.)

And that disrespect for American dead speaks volumes.

It means that the top of the command chain viewed those Americans as enemies.

And guess what? Americans WERE the enemy to the cabal of top military brass, Mossad assets, and the Cheney-Bush White House…the real murderers of almost 3,000 Americans on 9/11/2001.

Donald Rumsfeld himself declared war on the Pentagon on September 10th, 2001. That same day – less than 24 hours before 9/11 – he admitted that 2.3 trillion dollars was missing from the Pentagon budget.
The next day, the Pentagon accounting division was decimated in a bomb attack, later falsely attributed to a jetliner.

As Rumsfeld so aptly quoted Pogo on 9/10/2001: “We have met the enemy, and he is us.”

The concern that drones make armed attacks and military intervention more likely is often rejected by the military and the drone industry, who argue that the drone pilots are able to stand above the ‘fog and friction’ of the battlefield and to make dispassionate  and rational decisions about whether or not to use ‘kinetic force’.

This argument, however, has been torn to shreds by the release of a mass of papers detailing the US military investigation into a massacre of Afghan civilian on 21st February 2010.  The ‘incident’ as the papers describe the attack, took place on three vehicles near the village of Shahidi Hassas, Uruzgan district, Afghanistan.  According to the US investigation 15 or 16 men were killed (they couldn’t tell because the bodies were so badly damaged)  and 12 people were wounded, including a woman and three children.  Elders from the Afghans’ home village, however said  that 23 had been killed, including two boys, Daoud, 3, and Murtaza, 4.

While the investigation finds that several factors contributed overall to the tragedy, it makes it very clear that the attitude and actions of the Predator drone crew  were a significant cause of the civilian deaths:

“The Predator crew demonstrated a propensity/bias for kinetic operations and failed to accurately pass Distributed Common Ground Systems (DCGS) Screeners [the analysts watching the live video feed from the drone] assessments to the [commander in the field] that could have prevented the strike.  The Predator crew’s bias towards kinetic operations skewed their reports.  The Predator crew emphasized information suggesting the vehicles were hostile, while downplaying or ignoring information to the contrary.”  (Centcom FOIA 10-0218 Uruzgan , p.61)

Elsewhere in the papers, the investigator lays out in detail, using the audio logs of conversations from the drone pilots, how they  “skewed” their reports towards an attack:

1:  While the  Screeners [analysts watching video feed} assessed the vehicles appeared to be attempting to egress the area, the Predator assessed the vehicles to be attempting to flank the ODA [soldiers in the area 5 miles away]

2:  While the Screener identified children [in the vehicles] the Sensor Operator and the Pilot responded with “Bullshit”

3:  The Predator pilot and crew constantly challenged the Screeners assessment whenever there was an indication that it may not have been a hostile target.    “at least one child… Really?  Assisting MAM [Military term meaning Military Aged Males] means he’s guilty….   Review that (expletive deleted).  Why didn’t he ‘possible child’?  Why are they so quick to call (expletive deleted) kids but not call (expletive deleted) a rifle”

4:  The Predator pilot made the assessment that a scuffle with the target location was due to suing some passengers as a “human shield”.  There was no basis or experience for this assessment.

5:  After the initial strike, they identified the women on the objective as men in women’s clothes with earrings and jewellery.  They refused to accept the fact there were women on the object.

6.  There are any more examples through the internal [communications] transcript.  What is most concerning is when you cross walk the transcript between the Screeners in Florida to the Predator pilot in Creech AFB Nevada, then crosswalk the actual transmission, between the predator pilot and the [commander of the US soldiers on the ground 5 miles away}  it becomes clear that the predator Pilot and selected members of the crew independently skewed the ground picture.

Finally, target hand off between the predator crew and the OH-58D [the helicopter crew which launched the attack as they had more weapons than the Predator drone which was to attack "squirters" running from the vehicles] was lacking key information – there was no mention of adolescents by the Predator crew… The OH 58D pilots testified if they would have known f adolescents in the convoy they would not have engaged until cleared from their higher.”  (Centcom FOIA 10-0218 Uruzgan , p.52/53)

Elsewhere the investigating officer makes clear that, except for the sergeant commanding the small force of soldiers on the ground some 5 miles away, “no one involved considered the males as civilians at any time” (Centcom FOIA 10-0218 Uruzgan , p.49) and later “even after the strike, adult males were reported as enemy killed in action despite the fact that no weapons or explosives were found.” (Centcom FOIA 10-0218 Uruzgan , p.38)

While it is not possible to say for certain, one wonders what would have happened if the Sergent commanding the small group of soldiers – who immediately reported possible civilian casualties – had not done so?  How many other such ‘incidents’ have gone unreported and uninvestigated, and merely put down as  insurgents killed in action?

According to the LA Times which reported the attack after seeing  a summary of the investigation papers last year, the Predator crew were disciplined but the Air Force refused to reveal their specific punishment.  The Pentagon however confirmed that no one faced a court-martial in relation to the attack.

This ‘propensity to kinetic action’ cannot be applied just to one lone Predator crew however.  (It should be noted that a USAF Captain observing at Creech told the investigators that “there was a ‘Top Gun’ mentality amongst the Predator Crews.”)   Rather it must be applied much wider as drones have enabled the US military to ’go kinetic’ further and further afield, and more and more often.

Yesterday, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ) reported that US drone attacks in Yemen have risen sharply over the past two years to the point where it is now at the same level of strikes as in Pakistan.  TBIJ has painstakingly detailed a huge amount of covert US military involvement in Yemen over the past decade and amongst that, reports 20 confirmed, and a further 14 unconfirmed, strikes in Yemen over the past two years alone.

Drones have specifically enabled the US military to “go kinetic” in six separate counties over the past 12 months.   Is this not evidence that drones are in fact lowering the threshold when it comes to launching attacks?

Although 9/11 truth is still a red line in mainstream Western political discourse, the boundaries of discussion about the attacks are harder to enforce in the global alternative media, whose positive influence on public debate is rapidly expanding.

The global 9/11 truth and justice movement is not going away because it is based in reality and history. One of these days, it will become politically safe for mainstream organizations, journalists, and politicians to demand a new international investigation into the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth is one of the organizations that is leading the charge in educating the global public about the scientific evidence behind the 9/11 truth and accountability movement. Its founder Richard Gage is currently on a lecture tour in Canada. He was recently interviewed by Victoria Handysides of Canada's Here Magazine. Here is an excerpt from her article called, "Truther disputes 9-11 attack":

Gage and his supporters don't consider themselves conspiracy theorists. They don't claim to know why alleged demolitions were orchestrated or by who, and their findings are based on technical data and tangible evidence.

"We'll let the chips fall where they may," he said.

The group's evidence has been largely ignored by congress and mass media, which leads Gage to believe that the U.S. government "has something to hide."

The issue isn't just an American one, Gage says. He's calling on Canadians to sign a petition that his group will submit to Canadian parliament, asking for a full investigation of 9/11 considering their findings.

"Canadians were also manipulated into war based on the falsified event known as 9-11, which was designed, apparently, to manipulate the people to invade Afghanistan and ultimately Iraq," he said. "...All are affected by the state of permanent war, known as the 'War on Terror' as a result."

The Canadian petition that Gage referred to in the article was started by 911 Justice Canada. Here is an excerpt from the mission statement on its website:

"Our mission is to achieve a new and truly independent investigation surrounding the events of September 11th (9/11 events), through an international partnership.

Canada and the United States have a long history of partnerships in times of war and peace. Canada has its own origin and history which give unique strength to our politics and national identity. Through the new 9/11 Justice Canada, we will share our strength and resources to assist our American partners with their important goals regarding scientific evidence about the 9/11 events. Equally, Canadians will finally be able to understand and grapple with what happened on September 11th and how 24 of its citizens were killed. Concerned citizens and all political parties will benefit greatly from the enormous body of scientific research organized by a group supported by over 1600 professional architects & engineers who are calling for a new investigation into what exactly happened at the World Trade Center on 9/11."

The democratic force of civil society as symbolized by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and 911 Justice Canada has been suppressed with all means possible by the governments of America, Israel, Canada, England, France, other governments, and the United Nations. We also know for certain that there has been a systematic subversion and depoliticization of global civil society by the fascist U.S. National Security State and its criminal partners in Israel and around the world.

Most of the rank and file of the left in North America and the West are silent on the subject of 9/11 because they blindly follow their leaders, who are keeping them in the dark. The most dangerous and anti-democratic rhetorical tool of thought control is the blanket label of "conspiracy theory." This thought-killing label is repeated in the mainstream chorus in the ongoing political drama known as history.

The mainstream chorus is anti-reality, anti-truth, anti-debate, anti-democracy, anti-freedom, and anti-humanity. It acts as a mass spell over the populations of America, Israel, and the Western world. The lyrics and labels in the mainstream chorus such as "9/11 was an outside job, you are just a conspiracy theorist," are based on pure fantasy and written by evil tyrants who believe America, the Middle East, and the whole world belongs to them.

The purpose of the mainstream chorus in Western society is to hypnotize the people, and push evil events like 9/11 and 7/7 that were committed by American, British, and Israeli secret intelligence agencies to the sidelines of politically acceptable public discourse. According to the mainstream chorus, only the crazies and paranoid freaks congregate to the field outside of the mainstream, where they espouse deranged conspiracy theories because of their mental imbalance and fragile psyche.

But, by now, most of us know that the deceptive mainstream chorus is complete baloney. It is being listened to by fewer and fewer people. Their ears are no longer held hostage by the government sorcerers and voodoo media pundits who repeat the mainstream chorus whenever the subject of 9/11 truth is brought up for discussion and debate.

The mainstreaming of 9/11 truth cannot be stopped. It is part of a larger spiritual, cultural, and political awakening that is leading to individual empowerment and peaceful, democratic change in America, Israel, and the Western world. And this global awakening is totally spontaneous and uncontrollable by autocratic Western governments.

As the writer Alan Moore said, "Our leaders do not control the tides of history -- they are just surfing them." History is bigger than any conspiracy theory, or political cabal. The truth about the false flag 9/11 attacks cannot be suppressed, silenced, and ridiculed out of existence. To even attempt it shows how delusional and insane our governments really are. It is like blocking out the sun and replacing its natural sunshine with the artificial light of an Empire. It is absolutely crazy.

As the dark truth about 9/11 enters mainstream consciousness, sanity will be restored in our countries and also in our personal lives. At a certain point in the near future, we will all identify ourselves as conspiracy theorists because it is now identified with truth-telling and free-thinking. So, do not be ashamed to call yourself a conspiracy theorist or a 9/11 truther. Embrace it.

The people who think they rule over us and try to run our lives will not let us lawfully change the government they installed after their  coups of 11-22-1963 and 9-11-2001. I intend to reveal several possible exit paths from this present crisis.

But first I want to list  8  things the government has done to make it impossible for us to lawfully escape from what they have been doing to us. No matter that they have allowed Wall Street to steal tens of trillions of dollars from us and subject us to wars, occupations and confrontations on two continents with nations that have active alliances with Russia, China and Pakistan. That includes one nation that has a Russian naval base. We could all die because we do not have a way to just say No to the psychopaths who are running the world to it’s ruin.

1) The government  reads all of our emails and listens to our phone calls contrary to the Constitution. The Patriot Act allows them to search our homes without warrants. The TSA not only violates our Fourth Amendment right against searches without probable cause but all laws of public decency when they put their hands inside our underwear.

2) They use our appliances and computers to spy on us. They use smart meters to spy on our activities inside out homes even though the radiation from those meters can kill us.

3)  Vote fraud is so rampant that the Controlled Press does not really report it and even seems to support it by saying that the only candidate who defends the Bill of Rights can never allowed to be President anyway. They ought not to have the right to steal our votes. Why are we obligated to pay taxes to a government if they cannot prove they won an honest and fair election?

4)  They passed NDAA which President Obama signed on New Years Eve. It took away our rights to Habeas Corpus, trial by jury,  indeed the right to a trial of any kind, the right to not be tortured and the the right to legal representation. All of those rights were taken from us by criminals masquerading as politicians who also pretended to care for us.

5) The Congress passed an FAA bill which appropriates money for 30,000 drones to spy on us. The majority of those drones are to be armed with shotgun tasers though they can easily be fitted with missiles. You are now subject to summary execution just like the people of Yemen and Pakistan.

6) The government passed a law that makes it a felony to assemble to petition our elected representatives. In other words they just repealed the First Amendment.

7) The government has brazenly said they have the right to kill us without a trial based on secret evidence.

8) The Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff told the United States Senate that they no longer pay any attention to the Congress the voters elected. NATO  (Wall Street and London) will decide on its own to whether or not to send us to war. So what is the point in us voting if the Congress cannot do anything to stop a war?

If there are no lawful exit paths from the trap Wall Street created for us, the first question to ask is what will happen if we do not resist the evil they are sending our way. The Russian demographer Borisov said at least 3 million Americans died from starvation in the Great Depression. If we do nothing, at least 9 million Americans will starve to death before this present Depression is over. We are being saddled with huge unpayable government debts. Our debts are growing four times faster than our GDP which is the ability to pay these obligations. This is all happening because Wall Street wants to reduce us to permanent Debt Slavery. You need to understand that the government will very soon be absolutely incapable of helping anyone to do anything. When the dollar collapses, the federal government will cease to function.

A key concept is the Velocity of Money. If you multiply the Money Supply M times the Velocity of Money V, you will get the GDP or total amount of goods and services sold (M x V = GDP). Velocity just measures how many times the Money Supply M has to turn over in a year to produce the current year’s GDP. Currently, our Velocity of Money is low but Ben Bernanke has created so much money that it staggers the mind. Prices are increasing at only 12% plus per year for now but are increasing rapidly. New money is being put into Bailouts rather than into circulation where consumers can buy things and drive up prices. Velocity is low for now but when prices go a lot  higher later this year people run out and buy things before prices go up even further and their money loses its purchasing power.  For example, on July 4, 2008 the price of a bottle of beer in Zimbabwe rose from 100 billion to 150 billion dollars between 5 and 6:30 pm. If the Money Supply increases 10% providing Velocity remains unchanged., then GDP increases 10% though most of that increase will be in higher prices. However, a 10% increase in Velocity will also increase prices 10% even if Money Supply does not increase at all. This means that if we get into Hyperinflation, we can expect prices to increase  10% a month. And, if Bernanke  increases the Money Supply by 20%, then Velocity will initially raise prices 30% but the feedback from consumers will be overwhelming. Instead of spending their paycheck as soon as they get it, they will charge everything on their credit cards and pay within 30 days from next month’s paychecks. This will increase Velocity so a 20% increase in the Money Supply will increase prices 40 or even 50%. Of course that means government will be incapable of doing anything for you because the benefits of a 20% increase in spending will be far outweighed by a 50% increase in the cost of living. It also means nationwide food riots and that every city in America will be burned to the ground. That is when the bankers would love to bring in the IMF and have them turn America into a vassal state just like Greece. The bankers will appoint bankruptcy receivers who will close down half of our schools and hospitals while selling off our roads, parks, utilities and natural resources to foreign governments and corporations.

We really need to examine the exit paths from what Wall Street wants to do to us.

The first exit path is a war, but World War III is a Really Bad Idea. It will not solve our economic problems. There is no guarantee either the military or the billionaires who make decisions  will survive. Notice I did not mention the views of the common folk who are not billionaires and thus have no input into the decision making of our present government. I did mention people who command tank battalions, soldiers, marines and fighter pilots. These are the only men who presently can say No to World War III.

One exit path mentioned frequently is the idea that because America is a federal system and we can stop paying taxes to Washington and let the states run everything. Debts are accelerating at the state and local level and the state governments cannot print dollars. Their only financial exit would be to stop paying federal income taxes as well as excise taxes on alcohol and  gasoline. This is a short term option as import duties could only be collected at ports. And we will need some sort of international currency. Fewer than 1% of Americans own gold and silver so they are not optional currencies.  And the military would cease to protect us. Plus unpaid soldiers are dangerous.

A second exit path would be a violent revolution. This is not a really viable option as America has too many different nationalities and races to work together. That is by design.  Wall Street thinks  that race wars will so preoccupy Americans with survival that  they  cannot successfully revolt. Another plan the bankers have is to release a plague. The US military will not allow neither of these options nor World War III to occur. Professional soldiers live on this planet too. They have families. They will nor permit the bankers to kill them and their families.

A third option is a military coup which I believe could start out as a Mutiny because the generals and the admirals know that an attack on Iran is suicidal. The military would have to remove their opponents from power which would mean arresting everyone on Wall Street. To avoid racial tension they could allow the Teleprompter Reader in Chief to stay in the White House bit only allow him to read the scripts they give him. This could actually improve Obama’s popularity.

Wall Street has gotten us killed in wars we never needed. They have  murdered our Presidents and other leaders who tried to say No to Treason.  They have rigged our elections.They have stolen tens of trillions of dollars from us. They are willing to risk killing a few billion people by launching WW III just so they can stay in power. They are willing to release a plague to maintain power. They are willing to destroy America with multiple race wars. They have starved millions of Americans to death in the past and are willing to do so again. Wall Street has taken away all of our freedoms and nullify the Bill of Rights and the Constitution which is their greatest crime.

Whatever does happen to the bankers later this year there is no reason for either one soldier or one policeman to die defending the Lords of Wall Street.

 A Missive to an Estranged Southern Friend

Although I have resided in New York City for many years, I was born in the Deep South. On a daily basis, I negotiate Manhattan’s gridded streets and avenues, yet, in many ways, the terrain of my heart still winds like an Indian trail through a pine forest. I visit the south on a regular basis; the stain of red clay will never be scoured from my soul.

To this day, I retain close ties to a number of southern friends and contacts who did not venture far from home. As the years trundled on, I’ve witnessed the quality of life and emotional wellbeing of these friends, hailing from both laboring and middle class origins, experience a steep, accelerating decline.

I’ve gazed upon the tormented faces of men I know, now deep in middle age, who are facing the prospect of never again holding a steady job that affords them a sense of dignity. As a consequence, all too many of these men — men who I thought I knew well — have been rendered sullen, spiteful, and, much to my heart’s duress, an unreachable shell of their former self.

As their economic prospects diminished, their denial and displaced rage grew malignant. In the case of a couple of my friends, their resistance to reality became so vast, toxic, and all-encompassing that any attempt at dialog proved prohibitive.

Emblematic of this situation is my strained to the limit friendship with Vince (not his real name) who, due to the carnage inflicted on the U.S. laboring class by so-called free market “values”, has been chronically under or unemployed since the Wall Street bankster-perpetrated crash of late 2008. Yet Vince remains stubborn in his refusal to connect his dismal plight with the reality-resistant political notions he clutches. To this day, he describes himself as a “conservative libertarian — a proud believer in the values of the free market”. This conviction, coming from a member of the laboring class, is analogous to a slave proclaiming he is a believer in the auction block and the verities of his master’s whip.

Worse, as the day to day humiliations exacted by the corporate state continue to inflict deeper, more emotionally debilitating wounds, the more Vince reacts like a wounded animal…lashing out at all but those who bestow him with the palliative of right wing demagogic lies that distort the source of his suffering by means of directing his rage at a host of scapegoats; i.e., phantom socialists (and, of course, their OWS dirty hippie dupes) whose, schemes, he insists, have denied him his rightful place among the serried ranks of capitalism’s legion of winners.

My apologies to Vince and all of his like-minded brethren of my native region. Although we rose from the same southern soil, I’ve never had a knack for telling reassuring lies — for conjuring the sort of displaced emotional resentments and engaging in the brand of bigot-whispering that is the stock and trade of contemporary red state conservatives. Conversely, I have shown some promise in encouraging people to embrace the reality of their circumstances, and passing on the hopeful news that they are stronger than they know…Withal, the act of carrying the burden of denial in a marathon flight from feelings of angst and despair is the force that exhausts one’s energy and demoralizes one’s spirit.

This is why such a large number of those whose lives have been degraded by the deprivations of the present economic order will not focus their anger at Wall Street grifters: If capitalism, by the very nature of the system, allows a swindlers’ class to not only legally exist — but to thrive — then it follows that there must be something flawed about the nature of capitalism itself.

Accordingly, a depressing revelation waits at the margins of Vince’s (and other downtrodden true believers in the existence of free market fairy dust) sense of awareness: that the energies of one’s life have been devoted to the maintenance of an elaborate lie; not only have your labors been for naught — but your sacrosanct convictions have laid the groundwork for the crime that was committed against you. You have spent your life as an accessory to your own robbery.

Your faith in capitalism has left you in a similar position to the followers of a fanatical cult who were instructed to stand upon an isolated hilltop, so that, at midnight, as prophesied by their charismatic leader, their ranks will be lifted to heaven upon chariots of glinting gold…but who now stand stoop-shouldered before the breaking dawn, shivering into the cold light of day.

Rather than admit error, one’s pride can compel one to blame phantom enemies for humiliating circumstances. Thus, as Vince’s prospects shrank, his gun collection grew to mini-armory proportions. Perhaps, he believes the weapon’s heft in his hands will stem the inexorable drift of his life into purposelessness; perhaps, his firearms will bestow a sense of security, in a life buffeted by uncertainty; perhaps, if he squints down the site of his rifle long enough, he can target the phantoms that made off with his hopes.

Vince, old buddy, the solution is a great deal more accessible than that. To mitigate feelings of hopelessness attendant to isolation, the simple act of starting a conversation is helpful…The doable act of leaving the house and attending an OWS function can serve to transform gut-gnawing rumination into fruitful dialog…thus, Vince, you will become enjoined in an ongoing conversation — a collaboration between your soul and the soul of life. In this way, we can become part and parcel of the story of our times, part of a living tale, unfolding in the eternal present that will affect the future in ways unseen.

Still, I’ve learned, on an individual basis, I remain powerless against red state belligerent ignorance of the collective variety. My experiences as a southerner inform me the process of change will be difficult, because only cultural earthquakes alter the course of streams of surging stupid.

Sure, start a dialog with even the most obtuse teabagger sort…attempt to convince him that the views he clutches are self-defeating…try to disabuse him of his calcified bigotry — but don’t be optimistic about the outcome of your efforts. Trouble is depressingly large numbers of people have invested a great amount of time, energy and identity in the maintenance of their reality-defiant attitudes…There is just too much fragile self-esteem, bulwarked by brittle pride, at stake.

While self-doubt is the worthy adversary of the wise, belligerent ignorance is the dubious ally of those who fear and resist self-awareness. Often, a journey towards self-knowledge and an attendant awakening to the nature of one’s condition can be unnerving and painful. The process is fraught with free-floating anxiety and weighted with saturnine regret. If I’ve made numerous life-determining choices based on my acceptance of proffered falsehoods, then I have lost many years constructing my life accordingly. The grief can be overwhelming. What alms does one chant into the grieving dawn on the morning after one’s illusions have died?

This is why so many choose to spend their hours commuting through life in the company of the corpse of capitalism. Accordingly, the nation resembles the Bates Motel…its spree-killer government reflected in the acts of its murder-prone citizenry; e.g., Staff Sgt. Robert Bales and guarded gate, vigilante flake George Zimmerman.

When a system of governance loses its purpose for existence (when the system becomes a mindless self-perpetuating monster) its sustaining lies will be internalized and acted on by those governed. Militarized police units lower truncheons upon the heads of peaceful demonstrators, as individuals, unhinged by displaced grievances, mirror official policy in tragic acts of rage engendered by hopelessness.

We live in a culture that worships the god of violent death; of course, its sermons will be played out beyond the confines of its official temples, in the form of hideous bacchanals of spilled blood. The chickens come home to roost, and they are heavily armed and in the thrall of a violent psychotic episode.

Vince simply cannot wrap his corporate/police state colonized mind around the fact that, as is the case with any nation containing the vast amount of wealth inequity extant in the U.S., the elite will utilize the services of the police to achieve less than noble ends, that police repression and violence will be exercised at a level equal to the lack of legitimacy of the governing class.

As we have witnessed in the case of the OWS movement and its encounters with police authorities, when members of the citizenry challenge the corrupt arrangement, dissenters will be met by brutal methods intended to crush those perceived as a threat to the existing order.

To Vince and any others still holding the quaint notion that the governing class of the U.S. possesses legitimacy, the actions of the NYPD testify to the contrary; their ongoing, brutal suppression of those attempting to exercise their right to dissent should disabuse you of that noxiously innocent fantasy. When justice has been banished from the precincts of power, it must be reclaimed in the commons. Hence, occupy defiance. Make yourself at home on the premises, because, if you are outraged by oppression and you long for a more just world, you will be spending a good deal of your time in this location.

Vince, one day, upon your arrival, I hope to meet you there.

Why Does The Department Of Homeland Security Need 450 MILLION Hollow Point Bullets? by Madison Ruppert

 Somebody out there has decided that the Department of Homeland Security needs a whole lot of ammunition.  Recently it was announced that ATK was awarded a contract to provide up to 450 MILLION hollow point bullets to the Department of Homeland Security over the next five years.  Is it just me, or does that sound incredibly excessive?  What in the world is the DHS going to do with 450 million rounds?  What possible event would ever require that much ammunition?  If the United States was ever invaded, it would be the job of the U.S. military to defend the country, so that can't be it.  So what are all of those bullets for? 

Who does the Department of Homeland Security plan to be shooting at?  According to the U.S. Census, there are only about 311 million people living in the entire country.  So why does the Department of Homeland Security need 450 million rounds of ammunition?  Either this is an incredible waste or there is something that the Department of Homeland Security is not telling us.

I could understand if the U.S. military was ordering ammunition in this quantity.  When you fight wars you can go through ammunition very rapidly.

But the Department of Homeland Security is only supposed to be shooting at people very rarely.
It simply does not make sense that they would need so much ammunition.

The following is an excerpt from the official press release about this deal between ATK and the Department of Homeland Security....

ATK announced that it is being awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement from the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS, ICE) for .40 caliber ammunition. This contract features a base of 12 months, includes four option years, and will have a maximum volume of 450 million rounds.
ATK was the incumbent and won the contract with its HST bullet, which has proven itself in the field. The special hollow point effectively passes through a variety of barriers and holds its jacket in the toughest conditions. HST is engineered for 100-percent weight retention, limits collateral damage, and avoids over-penetration.
"We are proud to extend our track record as the prime supplier of .40 caliber duty ammunition for DHS, ICE," said Ron Johnson, President of ATK's Security and Sporting group.

But this is not the only kind of ammo that the DHS is placing an order for.

Business Insider is also reporting that the Department of Homeland Security is seeking to buy 175 million rifle ammunition rounds....

We've also learned that the Department has an open bid for a stockpile of rifle ammo. Listed on the federal business opportunities network, they're looking for up to 175 million rounds of .233 caliber ammo to be exact. The 223 is almost exactly the same round used by NATO forces, the 5.56 x 45mm.

This all comes at a time when gun sales are absolutely going through the roof in the United States.

Gun manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Co. recently announced that it would be suspending new orders until May because it received orders for more than one million guns during the months of January and February.
The following announcement about this suspension of sales comes from their official website....

• The Company's Retailer Programs that were offered from January 1, 2012 through February 29, 2012 were very successful and generated significant orders from retailers to independent wholesale distributors for Ruger firearms.
• Year-to-date, the independent wholesale distributors placed orders with the Company for more than one million Ruger firearms.
• Despite the Company's continuing successful efforts to increase production rates, the incoming order rate exceeds our capacity to rapidly fulfill these orders. Consequently, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.
• The Company expects to resume the normal acceptance of orders by the end of May 2012.

Since Barack Obama first took office, gun sales in America have risen to extraordinary levels.
Overall, more than 10 million guns were sold in the United States during 2011.

And gun sales have continued to rise at a brisk pace in 2012.  The following was recently posted on Yahoo News....

The NSSF said that 920,840 instant criminal background checks were made in January alone, a gain of 17.3% over the same month in 2011. This now makes it the 20th consecutive month of increases. While using the number of background checks is a good measurement of sales, it doesn't paint the whole picture as some checks are used for the purchases of multiple firearms. Also, some private transfers and sales from gun shows are exempt, making the actual number of guns sold higher.

According to Gallup, 41 percent of all Americans said that they owned a gun in 2010.  But when that question was asked again in 2011, that number had risen to 47 percent.

Clearly, a lot of Americans are feeling the need to arm themselves.

Unfortunately, they may find themselves short on ammunition for those guns considering how much ammo the government is buying up.

So what is causing everyone to buy so many guns?

Well, without a doubt we are likely to see a rise in crime as the U.S. economy continues to crumble.  People want to be able to protect themselves and their families when everything falls apart.  In fact, we are already starting to see some really violent home invasions in many parts of the nation.  Many in the prepper movement are deeply concerned about the direction this country is headed and they want to be prepared for whatever happens.

Of course the rising gang problem in America is a major concern too.  According to the FBI there are now 1.4 million gang members living in the United States, and that number has increased by 40 percent since 2009.  Many urban communities have essentially been taken over by these gangs, and many of these gangs are definitely not shy about using violence.  Average Americans that live in these communities want to be able to have a fighting chance against these gangs.

But that doesn't explain why the DHS needs so much ammunition.  Yes, our world is becoming increasingly unstable, but under what conditions does the DHS ever anticipate firing off 450 million rounds?

Bank of Greece complicit in broadscale embezzlement revealed by respectable Greek health site.

The illegally denied default of Greece entered a dramatic new phase this afternoon with the revelation by mainstream Greek public health website Health News that, shortly before midnight on March 8th – the eve of Greece’s psi completion on Friday March 9th – on average 70% of public utility funds in various large, interest-bearing accounts at the Bank of Greece were raided. These included most of the State’s regional hospital budgets, various universities and (it is alleged) at least one utility company. 

The shortfalls came to light late last week and this morning as various hospital purchasing cheques in particular began to bounce. The monies – estimated by one source to total some 1.4 billion euros – appear to have been used to pay off the tiny minority of private sovereign creditors who, under the original terms of their bond purchase, were entitled come what may to full payment of the bond’s yield entitlement. 

Setting aside the amoral audacity of this act, it does yet again raise the issue of a Greece so utterly lacking in any real funds in the real world, that to pay off a minute proportion of the bondholders it had to resort to such a desperate measure. 

“The Greek government used this money in order to purchase government bonds from various bondholders without getting permission from the bank account owners,” one reliable Athens source told The Slog in commenting on the story, “hospitals and universities have been robbed of hundreds of millions of Euros, absolutely essential for their core functionality.” 

On being pointed at the Health News site, The Slog immediately contacted another of many Athens sources who have flocked to this website in recent weeks. This informant in turn offered access to a senior administrator in a major teaching hospital. The person thus contacted told me:

“There can be no doubt about this. It isn’t even very subtle. All the monies were withdrawn over a brief period of time on March 8th after normal banking hours. I have spoken to teaching contacts at Universities over the weekend, and it has been confirmed that they too have the same embarrassment. These people are criminals who should be brought to justice. But in the Greece of today, it will not happen”.

One final source told me shortly before posting,

“The Bank of Greece is naked in this matter. We ask them for the reasons why this has happened, and they claim to have no knowledge of such things. This is ridiculous. This could not have been done without their cooperation. There is nobody now in Greece we can trust”.

Equally, nobody should be surprised that senior politicians and government officials have conspired to do such a thing. The Venizelos elite has shown itself to be without ethics or remorse in many ways already. The European Central Bank, Brussels, the IMF and even Berlin have also shown a compliant willingness to look the other way or simply ignore the Law if it suits them so to do.

But now, I think institutions around the world – and their stakeholders – need to look at what’s happening in southern Europe and ask themselves, ‘Is this really right? Is any cause worth this amount of depravity and deprivation?’

US, Washington - House members of both parties say the agency in charge of airport and port anti-terrorist screening uses ineffective tactics and treats travelers rudely.

Officials of the Transportation Security Administration told a hearing Monday they had made significant improvements and are moving away from a one-size-fits-all screening system.

Lawmakers at the joint hearing of two committees said Americans are treated like prisoners and cattle, protected by faulty equipment, patted down because of their disabilities and made to follow different rules at different times.

They said the TSA paid rent to keep faulty equipment in warehouses, even rushing to haul it away as congressional investigators were arriving.

A TSA official said the agency is expanding a program for travelers to go through a fast line if they provide personal information in advance.

SALT LAKE CITY — A federal judge on Wednesday continued to question the FBI's explanation for not producing videotapes associated with the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that a Salt Lake lawyer has sought for nearly six years.

"It's quite astounding that documents as important as these went missing and the FBI says, 'Well, they're gone,'" U.S. District Judge Clark Waddoups said during a motion hearing.

At issue is whether the FBI adequately responded to Jesse Trentadue's Freedom of Information Act request for footage of Timothy McVeigh parking a truckload of explosives at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. Specifically, the Salt Lake attorney is after a building surveillance tape and dashcam video from the Oklahoma state trooper who stopped McVeigh 90 minutes after the explosion that killed 168 people.

The FBI has submitted several declarations from its top records manager to show the agency has searched electronic databases and evidence warehouses without success. But Waddoups said the declarations lack credibility because they do not include firsthand knowledge or details about who, when, where or how the searches were conducted.

"That's not good evidence," he said.

Waddoups delayed ruling on the FBI's motion to dismiss the case and allowed the agency until June 15 to provide a more complete explanation of the searches.

"This is a matter of significant public interest," the judge said, adding it's time for it to be resolved.

U.S. Department of Justice attorney Kathryn Wyer argued the FBI has conducted a search in this case using procedures other courts have recently upheld as reasonable.  Trentadue essentially wants to use his FOIA request as a search warrant, which goes beyond the scope of the law, she said.

Trentadue contends the FBI has acted in bad faith by not providing the videotapes he has sought since December 2006.

"Their response has been, 'We looked for it. We can't find it,'" he said.

Wyer said Trentadue has not produced any evidence that the tapes exist. Trentadue counters that the FBI hasn't shown that they don't exist.

Trentadue began looking into the bombing after his brother, Kenneth Trentadue, died at the Oklahoma City Federal Transfer Center in August 1995. Kenneth Trentadue was a convicted bank robber who was taken to the federal prison after violating probation in San Diego in June 1995.

Jesse Trentadue alleges guards mistook his brother for a bombing suspect and beat him to death during an interrogation.

He said after all these years he thought public interest in the case would wane. "But that doesn't appear to be the case. It grows and grows."

With few exceptions the news that will shape public discourse is subject to a de facto censorial process of powerful government and corporate elites beyond accountability to the public. It is here that Sigmund Freud's notion of repression is especially helpful for assessing the decrepit state of media and public discourse in the United States. In Freud's view, one's collective life experiences are registered in the subconscious, with those particularly disturbing or socially impermissible experiences being involuntarily suppressed, only later to emerge as neuroses. Whereas suppression is conscious and voluntary, repression takes place apart from individual volition.

With opinion polls indicating at least half of the public distrusting the official account of September 11th, the foremost basis for the "war on terror", no public event has been more repressed in public consciousness via the mass media than 9/11. The enduring usefulness of Freud's theory is suggested in repeated manifestations of the repressed episode to haunt the public mind for which a surrogate reality has been crafted.

Peter Dale Scott describes occasions such as the assassination of President John Kennedy and September 11th as "deep events" because of their historical complexity and linkages with the many facets of "deep government" - the country's military and intelligence communities and their undertakings. The failure to adequately explain and acknowledge deep events and pursue their appropriate preventative remedies leads to continued deceptions where unpleasant experiences are contained and a new "reality" is imposed on the public mind. Together with the notion of repression, the term is also applicable for considering how instances of such historical import are dealt with in mass psychological terms, or, more specifically, by ostensibly independent alternative news media capable of recollecting the real.

For example, on May 1, 2011 President Obama announced the assassination of Osama bin Laden, the mythic mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, to an apparently ecstatic nation. Most conventional news outlets reported Obama's announcement unquestioningly because it fit the scheme of their overall erroneous reportage on September 11th. When alternative news media and bloggers almost immediately pointed to various contradictions in the story - the observations of eye witnesses to the raid, doctored photos of bin Laden's alleged corpse, and international press reports that Bin Laden died many years prior - corporate news outlets acted swiftly to repress the well-reasoned critiques as "conspiracy theories" with a barrage of swiftly-produced editorials and op-eds. Indeed, the announcement of Bin Laden's supposed demise came just four days after the Obama administration released the president's purportedly authentic long-form birth certificate, an event at once uncannily amplified and repressed by the proclamation of bin Laden's fate; where the vocabulary of repression produced another term, "deather".

Again, the life of a lie is predicated on the success of subsequent deceit and the strength of the alternate experience created to stand in for the truth. Nowhere is the repression and revision of the memory of September 11th more acute than in progressive news media claiming to offer an alternative to corporate-controlled journalism. Some of these media themselves have multi-million dollar annual budgets and are especially open to manipulation by elite interests, often through self-censorship, via corporate underwriters and grants from powerful, tax-exempt foundations.

The Democracy Now! news hour is a case in point. A markedly persuasive program with a highly-educated and influential audience, Democracy Now! has substantial credibility, much of which was earned through its scrutiny of the George W. Bush administration and the US invasion and occupation of Iraq. It is through the use of this credibility that Goodman and Democracy Now! have consciously suppressed serious questions pertaining to September 11th, thereby playing an important role in dividing the 9/11 Truth movement from its antiwar counterpart and cultivating the latter, with its inevitable confused detachment from history.

The success of Democracy Now! in this regard lies in its adherents' belief that it represents an authentically radical alternative to mainstream news - a claim that has some validity given the program's willingness to address race and gender-related issues and its copious attention to acts of social protest. In terms of analysis, however, Democracy Now's coverage is at best lacking and at worst outright misleading, bearing more of a resemblance to its mainstream equivalents than real alternative news outlets. This phenomenon has only increased despite the Obama administration's intensification of many policies begun under its predecessor.

A working example is Democracy Now's coverage of the so-called "Arab spring" over the past several months. While reports from alternative and international news outlets have pointed to the ties between the Libyan and Syrian "opposition" and the intelligence and military apparatuses of NATO's leading countries - Britain and the United States - Democracy Now! has fallen into lockstep with corporate news outlets that have valorized such forces as fighting against the tyrannical Gaddafi and Saad regimes. In the case of Syria there are conflicting reports on whether the Saad regime or death squads run out of Turkey by NATO are in fact responsible for the many deaths that have occurred over the past year. The Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya networks along with allegedly independent human rights groups have depicted the Saad regime as responsible for much of the Syrian bloodshed. Democracy Now! parrots and reinforces such reports without question, even though genuinely alternative media have scrutinized these claims.

In November 2011 the independent journalist Webster Tarpley journeyed to Syria to conduct a firsthand investigation of the Saad regime's alleged brutality. His findings utterly diverge with those many western audiences had become used to. After interviewing Syrian officials and embarking on unescorted tours of Syria over a two week period, where he spoke to dozens of Syrian commoners, Tarpley reported that almost all of the violence was chiefly attributable to the same forces involved in the overthrow of Gaddafi in Libya. While innocent pedestrians have been subject to bombings and being targeted by snipers and death squads - recognized techniques of US forces from El Salvador to Iraq to provoke ethnic division and civil war - the Syrians Tarpley spoke to held the Saad regime in high regard and wanted an increased Syrian army presence to prevent such attacks.

Tarpley broadcast from Syria on his own weekly World Crisis Radio program and proceeded to report his findings on alternative outlets, including Russia Today, Iran's Press TV, Alex Jones, and Jeff Rense. Despite the notoriety Tarpley was absent from Democracy Now! and like avenues, in all probability not just because of his unorthodox conclusions on the "Arab spring", but also an intellectual honesty that steered him toward, among other endeavors, a rigorous and unadorned interrogation of September 11th, thus placing him beyond the pale of the Left's permissible discussion and dissent.

The repression and revised imposition of September 11th and the attendant "war on terror" on the public mind have important implications not only for the integrity of public discourse, but also for the collective sanity of western culture and civilization. As crafted by dominant news media 9/11 has become the cracked lens through which we view and conceive of our own history, identity, and purpose. Each act of subverting or evading factual accounts of actually existing events manifests itself as a small fissure in the broader edifice of truth and rationality. So does it also contribute to furthering the designs of broader forces seeking to build a once seemingly pretend brave new world.
